Project info

Cardboard Robot Puppet is a very basic yet entertaining Micro:Bit project for beginners. You do not need any special electronics for it except for two LEDS. You can mak this DIY LED Modules with my other tutorial.

The construction is very simple and leaves plenty of room for creative personalization.

If you are using Micro:Bit v2 try adding some sound effects to mouth opening gesture.

Code

This code controle the brightness of LED modules according to the light level detected with Micro:Bit light sensing capabilities.

If Puppet mouth is shut there is no light detected. When mouth is opened light level rises above certain threshold and LEDs are turned on.

Adjust light level threshold to your conditions. You can also try setting LED brightness dynamically according to changes in light level.
